After 17 days of her sudden disappearance, police today recovered the decomposed body of a woman from near a stack of bricks on the banks of a river in Odisha’s Angul district.
The naked body of deceased identified as Muni Soy was found from a heap of bricks near Atanaka village, four days after her scooterette, clothes, vanity bag and shoes were found on the shores of Kakharua river in the district.
Soy, working as an assistant teacher at Bandhabhoi Girls’ High School, is a resident of Jamardiha and had gone missing since December 13.
According to reports, villagers and family members spotted the teacher’s nude body during the search operation.
The family members alleged that she had been murdered.
Meanwhile, police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation has begun into the incident.
It may be mentioned here that the woman had left for Pallahara regarding some work in a bank after submitting a leave application. Her whereabouts were unknown since then.
