Niali: While the mystery behind killing of sheep in large number is yet to be solved, three more sheep were killed and one more was injured by the mysterious animal here last night.
The sheep, which were dead, belong to Gobardhan Swain of Gobindapada village. The injured sheep is of Pahali Behera of Dihabansahi.
Earlier, the Minister for Forest and Environment Bijayshree Routray had said that the killer of a large number of sheep in Niali could be a wolf or a pack of wolves locally called rama siyala basing on the pugmarks of the wild animal found near the site of occurrence and its hunting style.
Notably, about 150 sheep have been killed by the unidentified creature in Niali area till July leading to panic among the locals who are spending sleepless nights with youths guarding the area armed with sticks and torches to nab the killer.
