Odisha spinner Paresh Patel’s three wicket haul in the all-important last over saw his team pull off a thriller by defeating Jharkhand by just 4 runs in a keenly contested match of changing fortunes at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
Chasing the Odisha total of 120, Jharkhand required just eight runs in the very last over when Patel struck thrice, dismissing Kumar Deobrat, Sarfaraz Ashraf and the set batsman Virat Singh (40) .
That Jharkhand which was struggling at 34 for 3 in the eighth over when Virat and Deobrat then steadied the innings with 78 for the fourth wicket and wer on course until Patel’s over.
Earlier, Ashraf’s fine bowling- that earned him 5 big wickets- had limited Odisha to 119 for 8 .
