Prime accused in the Kusakila village double murders case-Jhasketan Rout alias Jharu underwent polygraph (lie-detection) test for over six hours at the State Forensic Laboratory (SFL) in the Odisha capital today.
“I am not involved in any of the murders,” Jhasketan told reporters after undergoing polygraph test at the SFL.
On the other hand, police official accompanying Jhasketan said the truth will be out after the test report is received.
“The truth behind the murders will be out after the polygraph report is out. I cannot say anything now since investigation is on,” said the police officer accompanying Jhasketan.
Police has taken Jhasketan on a fresh two-day remand. The police had taken Jhasketan on three-day remand on February 15.
Notably, family members of Jogeswar Sahu and Hirankshya Sahu of Kusakila village under Jarapada police station limits in Angul district had complained before the police alleging involvement of Jhasketan in the two going missing.
On February 11, police arrested Jhasketan in connection with the incident and exhumed bodies of Jogeswar and Hirankshya from a 15-16 ft deep pit behind the village school. During interrogation Jhasketan confessed to the police that he had also murdered one woman Abala Gadnayak and her nephew Kumuda Sahu of Kukurpeta area under Chhendipada police station limits in a similar manner buried them in a pit in the same school.
Basing on Jhasketan’s statement police exhumed the skeletal remains of Abala and her nephew Kumuda from a pit from the premises of the same school.
