While temperature in most parts of Odisha has drastically come down since last three days following moderate rainfall, the local Met office here today predicted more rainfall in the state in the next 48 hours.
“A cyclonic circulation has formed over coastal Odisha and its adjoining areas and Gangetic West Bengal. Besides, there is a trough line lying over coastal Odisha up to north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Under its influence, rain or thundershower is likely in some parts of coastal north and south Odisha and some parts of interior areas of the state in the next 48 hours. Besides, there is possibility of a Nor’wester in some areas of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Baleswar and Khorda districts with wind speed of 70-80 km per hour during the period”, director of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Dr Sarat Sahu told the media today.
Meanwhile, a Met release this evening said temperature remained below 40 degree Celsius in almost all parts of the state with Bhawanipatna remaining the hottest place with 37.5 degrees.
