Bhuabneswar, Sept 3 :
Eminent Odia writer Haraprasad Das has won the prestigious Moortidevi award this year for his literary creation, ‘Vamsha’.
He is the second Odia writer to claim the coveted honour after Pratibha Ray who won it in 1991.
The Moortidevi Award is an annual literary award in India presented by the Bharatiya Jnanpith organization for a work which emphasizes Indian philosophy and culture. The prize includes an amount of Rupees two lakh, a plaque, a statue of Saraswati, and a shawl.
