Monsoon triggers widespread rainfall in Odisha

With the southwest monsoon making further advance into some parts of South Odisha today, there has been moderate and heavy rainfall in some places in the last 24 hours.

rain sceneAs per the weather bulletin this evening on rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours till 5.30 PM today, Baleswar recorded the highest rainfall at 120.8 mm, followed by Chandbali (80.1), Bhubaneswar (14.4), Angul (77.8), Baripada (59), Hirakud (44), Bolangir (43), Malkangiri (32) and Dhenkanal (19).

The Met office has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places and moderate rainfall in interior, north and coastal districts in the next 72 hours till June 17.

Besides, there would be more rainfall in the state in the next two days till June 19, it added.
