Cuttack, Dec 20:

Budha Moharana, the veteran Art Director in Odia film industry has been fighting for life as he has been put on ventilator support in a private hospital in Cuttack city of Odisha following brain stroke.

According to reports, the eminent director suffered brain hemorrhage in May this year due to high blood pressure with four blood clots in his brain and since then the Bhishma Pitamah of Odia film industry has been hopping hospitals for treatment. Meanwhile, his mobility and speech was affected.

On the other hand, financial crisis has posed a major obstacle in his treatment as it involves an expensive treatment regimen. His family has already spent around Rs 8 lakh towards his treatment at Puri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Presently, he is put on ventilator at Moon Hospital in Mahanadi Vihar here after they failed to get him admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital due to non-availability of bed.

Though Tourism Department of Odisha government and a social organization had extended financial support in May, the fast-depleting resources has posed a challenge for the family to meet the treatment expenses.

The family has urged the government to provide medical assistance to the veteran with ventilator facility in a government run hospital as the supervising doctor has advised to keep him on ventilator for long time for recovery, which is too much expensive.
