The winner of Indian Idol Junior season-2—Odisha’s Ananya Sritam Nanda—today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi where the latter congratulated the teen singing sensation for having won the title.
The Prime Minister was mighty impressed by the confidence of the little star and appreciated her determination and hard work that got her the title in the highly competitive reality show.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was also present on the occasion, called her the “Pride of Odisha”.
“The recent feat of Ananya has filled the heart of every Odia with pride,” Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.
Ananya, along with her parents and two sisters, had called on the Prime Minister in his office in New Delhi along with the Petroleum Minister.
It may be noted that Indian Idol Junior this year auditioned some 30,000 odd contestants worldwide held in 25 cities of India and Dubai. About 121 contestants were shortlisted for the theatre round held in Mumbai and finally 13 contestants vied for the title in the final knockout round.
She was adjudged the winner of the show based on popular votes by audience worldwide.
