Bhubaneswar, Sep 23:
A three-member gang of robbers in the Odisha capital on Wednesday looted a 35-year-old man, working as an accountant in a Cuttack-based real-estate firm, of Rs 1.20 lakh kept in a bag after diverting his attention from cash.
The victim was identified as Sabyasachi Swain of Kendrapara.
After withdrawing Rs 1.20 lakh in cash from the IDBI bank branch located at Damana square under Chandrasekharpur police limits, Swain headed towards Patia when three robbers threw a sticky stuff (biscuit powder mixed in water) on his back and started diverting his attention to loot him.
Swain, who works as an accountant with Raghupati Estate and Holding Private Limited in Cuttack said, “While I was crossing the road to board an auto-rickshaw after withdrawing Rs 1, 20, 000 from Damana IDBI bank branch, someone threw dirty water on me. I stopped at a shop and purchased a water bottle to clean it when three bike-borne miscreants came and snatched away my bag and sped away towards Saileshree Vihar.”
Meanwhile, Chandrasekharpur police officials said that they are investigating the matter and miscreants would be nabbed soon.
The incident occurred two days after a collection agent was robbed of Rs 12 lakh by two miscreants near Big Bazaar under Infocity police limits.
