Marshaghai, Dec 15:

A minor dalit girl of Danarmund (Silipur) village under Marshaghai police limits is battling for her life at the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack after being gang raped.

Reports said a minor girl belonging to the dalit community on December 8 had gone to the nearby Gobari River to wash her clothes. While she was returning home, three miscreants abducted her to a desolate place and raped her.

The miscreants who allegedly took nude pictures of the victim on a mobile phone warned her of dire consequences and also threatened to upload the pictures on the internet if she told anybody about the incident.

Scared, the victim kept mum over the incident. But after five days she had severe bleeding in her private parts and even vomited blood. It is only then that she revealed everything to her parents.

They first took her to Marshaghai and later to Kendrapara hospital but had to finally shift her to SCB Medical College and Hospital as her condition worsened.

The victim’s family lodged a complaint at the Marshaghai police station on Friday night despite threats.

Though IIC of Marshaghai police station had reached Cuttack on Saturday, he has not recorded the statement of the victim as yet, reports said.

A case has been registered at the Marshaghai police station against Manoj Mallick, Rajkishore Mallick and Gulu Mallick of the same village in this connection.

One person has been detained by the police and he is being interrogated by the police.
