Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha are likely to experience hot winter as the temperature will rise from December 4 across the state due to low pressure predicted over the Bay of Bengal in Andaman Islands by December 3.
Met predicted that another low pressure has been formed near Sri Lanka and it will move towards Arabian Sea.
Under influence of two low pressures, the mercury will rise in Odisha from December 4 till 10, the Met said.
The temperature, which is dropping in coastal parts of Odisha, will remain intact till Dec 2-3.
However, the interior and western Odisha shivered under cold wave with the minimum temperature recorded 7.5 degree Celsius in Phulbani, 9 degree Celsius in Daringbadi, 9.6 degree Celsius in Hirakud on Wednesday night.
Similarly, Keonjhar recorded 10 degree Celsius, Sundargarh 11.5 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda 11.8 degree Celsius, 12.4 degree Celsius in Sambalpur, 12.6 degree Celsius in Sonepur, 13.3 degree Celsius in Balangir, 14.5 degree Celsius in Balasore, Cuttack and Koraput and Bhubaneswar recorded 15 degree Celsius.
