Tata Steel has signed an agreement with Medica to establish two super speciality hospitals in Kalinganagar in Jajpur district and Gopalpur in Ganjam district in Odisha said Tata Steel Managing Director, T V Narendran said here today.
Narendran made the announcement while inaugurating a modernized and upgraded 150-bed Kantilal Gandhi Memorial Hospital here today.
As per the tie-up, Medica would manage both the proposed hospitals of Tata Steel at Kalinganagar and Gopalpur, Medica Chairman, Dr Alok Roy told newsmen.
Roy said each hospital would have a capacity of 500 beds and the total investment to create the facilities would be Rs 300 crore.
He said while an area 10 acre has been earmarked for the hospital in Kalinganagar, 40 acres have been allocated for the proposed hospital at Gopalpur.
The hospital in Kalinganagar, where the foundation stone has already been laid will be completed in one and half years’ time, he added.
