Martyred Odisha jawan cremated with state honours

Khordha: The mortal remains of martyred Odisha jawan Hemant Kumar Panda were consigned to flames at his native Atharang village in Begunia area of Khordha district today.

Floral tributes were paid to Panda as locals gathered at the place this morning and paid last respects to the departed soul. The cremation was then conducted with full state honours.

Panda was martyred during an encounter between militants and security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on January 26. He had joined the Indian Army two years ago.
