The Red rebels continued to unleash terror in Odisha’s Malkangiri district as a villager was found dead with his throat slit in the wee hours today.
A group of around eight to ten Maoists called Biswanath khilo, a resident of Panasput village in the cut-off area of the Chirtrakonda reservoir in the district, from his house last night. He did not return home till this morning. Locals found his body in a pool of blood with throat slit on the outskirts of the village.
The members of the outlawed group have killed him suspecting him to be a police informer, sources said.
It may be mentioned that Maoists had killed Biswanath’s father in 2012 suspecting him to be a police informer.
Biswanath’s father, a gram rakkhi (village guard), was abducted by the rebels from his village and killed him on suspicion of being a police informer.
