Maoists torched a road construction machine and a two-wheeler at Borapadar village under Bijepur police limits in Kalahandi district of Odisha late last night.

According to reports, a group of over five Red rebels torched a JCB and a motorcycle belonging to the contractor, identified as Rajendra Sahoo, protesting road construction work.

“Last night a group of Maoists arrived at my home in search of me. However, I managed to hide following which they set the vehicle afire,” said Rajendra.

They took key of the JCB from driver and set the machine on fire on the outskirts of the village, he concluded.
