Panic gripped Khaprakhol block in Odisha’s Bolangir district after a group of armed Maoists set a country liquor joint at Telenpali village on fire on Friday night.
According to reports, around 20 armed Maoists barged into Telenpali village under Khaprakhol block at about 9 PM and went to a country liquor joint and broke open the door. They asked the owner to hand over the cash. After collecting the cash worth Rs 1.85 lakh from him, the Red Rebels set the joint on fire.
Police rushed to the village this morning for an on-the-spot investigation.
Talking to the media, Bolangir SP Dipak Kumar said the CRPF and the local police have begun a combing operation in the area this morning to track down the Maoists.
