Malkangiri, Oct 5:
Maoists killed a village head in Odisha’s Malkangiri district late last night.
According to reports, the left wing ultras arrived at Mangipali village under MV-79 village late on Saturday night, dragged away the village head Kamalu Penta from his house and shot him dead on the outskirts of the village.
The villagers found the bullet-ridden body of Penta early this morning.
Following information, security personnel rushed to the spot.
The left wing ultras might have killed Penta suspecting him to have been a police informer, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said.
This is the third Maoist killing in the district in the last fortnight and has spread panic in the whole area.
