Defending champion Manipur retained the Junior National Women’s Football Championship title beating host Odisha by 3-0 goals at the Barabati Stadium here on Thursday.
Manipur took the lead in the 18th minute through Ratan Bala Devi. The visitors intensified their attack after the first-half with Dangmei Grace scoring two goals in the 51st and 62nd minute.
While Ratan Bala of the champion team received the Player of the Final award, Nyitsarho and Rokosenvo Meyase of Nagaland bagged the Best Goalkeeper and Best Defender awards respectively.
S Muthuselvi of Tamil Nadu and Pyari Khaka of Odisha won the Best Midfielder and Best Striker awards respectively.
Founder Director of Odisha Television Ltd Jagi Mangat distributed the prizes as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
Among others, MLA Debashis Samantray, secretary of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Odisha Olympic Association (OAA) Asirbad Behera, Bijaya Das, Bhakta Ballav Das and Ramesh Chandra Mallick, vice president, Football Association of Odisha (FAO), Avijit Paul, Bikram K Mahapatra and Sangeeta Sharma, joint secretary, FAO were also present at the closing ceremony.
