The Salepur Police in Odisha’s Cutttack district are in the hunt for a man who stabbed a minor boy after he protested against the objectionable photo of his elder sister uploaded by him on Facebook.
According to reports, the accused, who has a mobile repairing shop in Salepur market, got furious after was rebuffed by the woman he loved.
The accused had uploaded on the popular social media network the woman’s photograph taken without her permission from her mobile phone which she had given him for repair
The matter came to light on Sunday when the woman found her photo on the Facebook. Later in the day, the minor brother of the woman went to the shop of the accused and had an argument with him over the issue.
The jilted lover allegedly dragged the boy inside his shop and stabbed him. Immediately after the crime, he fled the place after closing the shop while leaving the injured boy inside the shop.
Locals passing by the shop this morning heard the cries of the boy inside the shop and informed the police, who rushed to the shop and rescued the boy whose neck was partially slit.
He was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where his condition was stated to be critical.
“Police have seized the blood stained shirt of the boy from inside the shop and asked his family members to lodge an FIR after which investigation would start,” said Suryakant Ray, IIC, Salepur.
