Bhubaneswar: Taking step to attract foreign investments in second edition of Make In Odisha, the state government is planning to hold more road shows abroad.
The authorities are talking to their counterparts to hold road shows in the countries including Japan, Germany, Britain and China. Besides, the road shows will be conducted in various locations in India, said a senior official.
The initiative is expected to drag attention of foreign investors to make investments in various sectors including tourism and industry.
For the second edition of Make In Odisha, the state government is all set to conduct road show in Mumbai from Nov 30 till Dec 1. A team led by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi will discuss with the investors for investment in various sectors in Odisha.
Besides, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to hold 21st Enterprise Odisha in Bhubaneswar from Dec 7 till 11.
Earlier, road shows were conducted in Japan and Thailand this year to showcase manufacturing prowess of Odisha and investment opportunities in focus sectors.
Last year, the investors had expressed their interest for investing around Rs 2,03,000 crore in 10 major sectors in first edition of Make In Odisha.
Odisha government in collaboration with Centre’s Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) had organized the Make in Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar on November 30, 2016 till December 02, 2016.
Although, several MoUs were signed during the event, but the projects are yet to come up.
