Bhubaneswar, Aug 3:
Film actor-turned MP from Odisha in the Rajya Sabha Anubhav Mohanty today moved a breach of privilege notice against Union Minister of State for Water Resources Sanjeev Balyan for providing misleading information to the Parliament on projects undertaken by Chhattisgarh government in the upper catchment of river Mahanadi.
The BJD MP is the first law maker from the Upper House of the Parliament to move a breach of privilege notice against Balyan over the Mahanadi issue.
Earlier, three BJD MPs in the Lok Sabha-Bhatruhari Mahtab, Prabhas Ranjan Singh, and Nagendra Pradhan have moved similar notices against the Union Minister for misleading the House.
Balyan had, however, said that he was not at fault since the information was made available to him by the Chhattisgarh government.
