Balasore: In a bizarre incident, locals allegedly looted petrol from a fuel-laden freight train near Bahanaga railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district last night.

According to reports, the train engine carrying 52 tankers of fuel from Paradip was on its way to Subarampur depot in the district. It stopped near Bahanaga railway station after leakage was spotted in two tankers.

In order to inform about the incident to concerned officials, the Loco Pilot of the train drove the engine towards Balasore railway station leaving the tankers.

Moments later, locals reached the spot and unsealed three tankers after which they emptied the petrol contained inside the tankers. The Railway authorities have started a probe into the incident.
