Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Odisha capital today issued lightning and thunderstorm warning for seven districts in the State.
“The latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty surface wind is likely to occur in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts till 6.30 PM,” the IMD bulletin said.
The MeT office forecast further said the same will occur in Puri and Ganjam districts till 7.30 PM and advised people in the above districts to stay in safe places to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, the State continued to boil under scorching heat for the third consecutive day. The maximum temperature of Bhubaneswar was recorded 42.3 degrees Celsius by 1.30 PM.
