Bhubaneswar, Apr 28:
With the gruelling heat wave prevailing in almost all parts of Odisha today, the prediction of the local Met office here that it would intensify further in the next 48 hours has pressed the panic button.
While the industrial town of Talcher was the hottest place with 43.8 degree Celsius, temperature rose to 40 degree and above in Chandbali (41.4), Bhubaneswar (41.6), Angul (42.3), Jharsuguda (41.7), Keonjhargarh (40.3), Sambalpur (41.8), Sundargarh (40.5), Hirakud (41.2), Bhawanipatna (42.7), Bolangir (42), Phulbani (40.2) and Titlagarh (42.5).
The Met office, however, has said there is a possibility of rain or thundershower at some places of the state in the next 24 hours due to formation of a trough line stretching from north-eastern state across Odisha while the heat wave would continue to persist over the remaining areas.
