Bhubaneswar: Odisha being one of the early adopters of the Digital India initiative, it is all set to script another history by going cashless in land registration process.
Come September 1, the land registration process will be done without the intervention of paper currency.
State Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty today informed media that land registration transactions will be done cashless from the first of next month.
“Land registration process will be done cashless from September 1. In case of any inconvenience with regard to e-payment, demand draft and cheques will be accepted,” Mohanty told media.
With such move, it will help reduce human intervention that breeds under-the-table transactions. Besides, it will prevent unlawful disposal of immovable property.
