Bhubaneswar, July 13:
The farmers’ wing of Odisha BJP will hold protest demonstrations at all districts headquarters offices in the state on July 21 to highlight its seven point charters of demands relating to issues and problemsfaced by the farmers in Odisha.
The issues the Krushak Morcha plans to raise through the protest action include failure of Odisha government in providing paddy seeds, Rs 100 bonus assistance per quintal of paddy to the farmers as declared after cyclone Phailin, complete failure of the state government in ensuring irrigation facilities and distress sale of paddy, a BJP press release said today.
The Morcha will also demand infrastructure development of the Mandis meant for the storage and sale of paddy.
The farmers’ wing has also worked out a six-month long programme under which efforts will be made to strengthen the Morcha at district level through campaigns to connect with the farmers across the state.
