Himanshu Khatua directed ‘Krantidhara’ has been adjudged as the Best Film at the 26th State Film Awards for the year 2014, which was announced here today.
The State Culture department today disclosed the winners of the prestigious State Film Award.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda announced the list of the winners here at a function.
Ollywood actor Bijay Mohanty will receive this year’s Jayadev Award for lifetime achievement. It is a special award conferred on a film personality for outstanding contribution to Ollywood.
Sabyasachi Mohapatra and Atal Bihari Panda will receive the Best Director and Best Actor award respectively for the movie Aadim Vichar.
“I am very happy for the grace of lord Jagannath and Samaleswari. I have won the national award also. But, it feels nice to win state award too,” Sabyasachi Mohapatra expressed.
It may be recalled that Sabyasachi Mohapatra and Atal Bihari Panda had won the State Film Award in Best Director and Best Actor category last year too. They were honoured for the movie Sala Budha.
The Best Actress award will be given to Gargi Mohanty for her performance in the movie ‘Krantidhara’. Similarly, Iti Samant will receive the award as the Best Story writer of ‘Krantidhara’.
“This is recognition for my hard work. This is for the entire team. I am very happy for the achievement. The movie is going to be released soon. I would request viewers to go and watch the movie in the theaters,” Gargi Mohanty said.
The award was established in 1968 which is decided by independent jury members selected by state Department of Culture. The jury panel comprises of eminent personalities from film fraternity, journalists, public servants, academicians and other prominent persons from various fields.
The State Film Award is presented in 25 different categories.
