Kin of deceased Maoists reach Odisha’s Malkangiri to receive bodies

Malkangiri, Oct 26:

Family members of ten Maoists, who had died during a joint operation of the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police in Bejing forest, reached the office of Malkangiri SP last night to receive the bodies.


The family members of the deceased, hailing from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, were accompanied by revolutionary poet Varvara Rao.

Wife of top Maoist cadre Ramakrishna alias RK also visited the SP office to receive the body of her son who was killed in the operation.

Meanwhile, RP Koche, IG Operations and S Shyni, DIG South-western range visited Malkangiri today to review the situation in the district after the anti-Maoist operation.

Notably, 28 Maoists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces which also left a Greyhounds commando dead near the Andhra-Odisha border on October 24.
