After three weeks of death of Odisha television actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja under mysterious circumstances, his family members have expressed resentment over the tardy pace of investigation.
Raja’s mother, Bishnupriya Ray, has expressed her anguish over the police investigation process here on Saturday at Soro police station.
The police are not probing the death of Raja in the proper direction. They are taking the case lightly, claimed Raja’s mother and uncle.
Yesterday, she had appeared at Soro police station where the police recorded her statement under section 161 of CrPC.
The police handed over various possessions of her deceased actor son, including three gold rings, wallet, ATM card, Driving licence and Rs. 11,300, which were seized from Pralipta Priyadarshini Samal aka Jessy, who is behind bars being accused of abetting Raja to commit suicide.
The police have not recorded the statements of event coordinator Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Behera under section 164 taking both as witnesses, sources said.
