Kidnapped student rescued from train in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur, May 4:

A class 9 student kidnapped from Odisha capital was rescued from Intercity train in Sambalpur last night.

The RPF personnel rescued the abducted student from Sambalpur road station.

The student was identified as Satyaranjan Sahoo, son of Padmacharan Sahoo, a resident of Unit 4 area of capital city.

According to RPF sources, Satyaranjan was abducted by two unidentified persons yesterday morning while he had gone outside for plucking flowers.

The accused made him unconscious and locked the him inside the toilet of Sambalpur Intercity train. After Satyaranjan retrieved his sense, he knocked at the toilet door and one passenger opened it. He contacted his father using the passenger’s mobile phone and told everything. Later, his father informed the Sambalpur RPF and Shishu Kalyan Samiti, an NGO, officials for rescue of his son.

Acting on a tip-off, the RPF and NGO officials reached the spot and rescued Satyaranjan from Sambalpur road station.
