Bhubaneswar, Feb 12:
The Twin City Commissionerate Police today rescued the 13-yr-old girl kidnapped four days ago from Badagada area of Odisha capital four.
While the police has rescued the minor girl from Atapur in Keonjhar, it has arrested the couple (Bishnuprasad Moharana and Rashmita Moharana natives of Godipada in Nayagarh district) which had allegedly kidnapped her and is interrogating them at an undisclosed location, said sources.
The police is interrogating them on the motive behind the kidnapping of the minor girl and whether other persons were involved in it, the sources added. The minor girl has been restored to her parents.
Notably, two days back parents of the minor girl had approached the Twin City Police Commissioner to find out their daughter.
The Twin City Commissionerate Police had formed two teams under the supervision of Bhubaneswar DCP which had gone to trace the girl in Keonjhar.
The parents of the minor girl had complained before the police on February 8 that their daughter had been kidnapped by their tenant.
“The tenant’s wife told me that my father had sent a message to her and I need to accompany her. I told her that I can’t go since I have to go to school. Since she insisted I accompanied her leaving my bicycle there. When we reached Cuttack I asked her about my father. She said we will be meeting him soon. In the process they took me to Keonjhar. There we had food and stayed for the night in a hotel. Next day in the morning after taking bath we had darshan at the Tarini temple at Ghatagaon. After that they searched for a house to take on rent. Then they settled for a house belonging to one of their relative. They told me that after money is arranged we shall leave for Bengaluru,” said the minor girl speaking to reporters here.
