A group of four unidentified miscreants on Saturday afternoon allegedly attempted to kidnap a youth at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) premises in Odisha, but in vain.


According to reports, the youth who claims himself as an employee at Delhi airport was on a visit to Odisha with his two friends and was detained by four youths at Jharpada area in Bhubaneswar last night.

However, his Odia friends rescued him and went to see him off at second terminal of the airport.

While he was entering into terminal-II, some wrongdoers rushed to the spot and attempted to abduct him following which the victim shouted loudly and they fled away.

“I was on a visit to Odisha with my two friends from Delhi. Last night I was detained by some youths and later my Odia friend who had invited us to Odisha managed to rescue me. Today that gang was trying to kidnap me from the airport,” said the victim.

Commissionerate police reached the spot and probe was going on. The incident has been captured by CCTV cameras installed at the terminal with clearly visible pictures of the miscreants.
