Khadial (Nuapada), Mar 9:
In a telephonic conversation with leading Odia daily Sambad last night, Bagarti said he had earlier informed the party leadership that he was not keen on contesting for the Khadial assembly seat this time.
However, the state BJP president KV Singhdeo expressed surprise over Bagart’s decision and said the MLA had not informed him about his unwillingness to take part in the election. He said Bagarti was given the party ticket in view of his good work in the last five years.
Though the BJP MLA did not elaborate on the reason for his unwillingness to contest, sources in the party however, said the BJP legislator was annoyed because he was interested in becoming the party’s Lok Sabha candidate, something that did not happen.
