Bhubaneswar, Oct 17:

After inexorable bashing by netizens, former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju landed in further trouble for his unsavoury remarks on Odisha and its people on social networking site a week ago.

A lawyer today filed a complaint against Katju with Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here for the latter’s Facebook postings showing Odias in poor light.

The petitioner Ashok Badapanda’s complaint was admitted in the lower court where he alleged that the comments amounted to sedition and an act against the state.

The post had triggered a statewide outrage owing which the obstinate septuagenarian had to tender apology on Friday.

“I had written my post in lighter vein. However, if Odia people are feeling hurt I apologize. I had no intention to hurt their feelings, and was only joking, just as I had joked about Biharis, Tamilians, etc. People should develop a sense of humour,” Katju had posted on FB after the much furore.

A day after Katju tendering apology, member of Delhi Odia Students Association had staged a protest in front of his apartment in Noida. Later, they had given him a bouquet and a ‘get well soon’ card.
