The newly formed IDCO-MCL Kalinga Lancer would play its first league match against Jaypee Punjab Warriors (JPW) in the second edition of Hockey India League (HIL) at the Kalinga Stadium here on January 28.
As per the HIL fixture announced on Wednesday, Kalinga Lancers would play 10 league matches in which they would play two matches with each teams. The team would play five matches at home and five away. It would play against JPW, DMM, DWR, UPW and RR at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on January 28, February 1, 13 and 14 respectively.
In their home-away matches, Kalinga Lancers would play against DWR at Delhi (January 30), against RR at Ranchi (February 7), against UPW at Lucknow (February 9), against JPW at Mohali (February 11) and against DMM at Mumbai (February 16).
Jaypee Punjab Warriors would meet Delhi Wave Riders in the inaugural match of the 2nd edition of HIL at Mohali on January 25.
The semi-finals and final match will be held in the home town of defending champions Ranchi Rhinos on February 22 and 23 respectively.
Kalinga Lancer (KL), Jaypee Punjab Warriors (JPW), Delhi Wave Riders (DWR), Uttar Pradesh Wizards (UPW), Dabur Mumbai Magician (DMM) and Ranchi Rhinos are the six teams participating in 30 league matches.
The top four teams would qualify for the semi-final matches.
