“My comments were not intentional. I had written it lighter vein on Facebook. If Odia people are hurt I am sorry. I had no intention to hurt their feelings or show them in low esteem. I apologize for my comments. Please don’t make a mountain of a molehill. I will post an apology on the Facebook immediately,” said the former Justice of Supreme Court of India in an interview to a local television news channel.

Later in the day here is what the former Chairman of Press Council of India posted on the Facebook.

This is what Justice Katju had posted on Facebook on October 10 which had led to anger and frenzied emotions in Odisha.

Earlier in the day today, Justice Katju– the former chairman of Press Council of India– had posted a cartoon on the social networking site portraying him hammering his head.

The former Supreme Court justice’s remark had triggered a furore in the state with burning and smearing of his posters in Puri and other places. Besides, several political parties also flayed Katju for his unsavoury remarks.
