JRC volunteers organize Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Odisha capital

The Junior Red Cross (JRC) and the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha state branch organised Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Red Cross Bhawan in the capital city today.

More than 300 JRC volunteers and counsellors of Unit-3 Capital Boys’ High School, Unit-2 Capital Girls’ High School, Unit-3 Satya Sai High School, Unit-2 Boys’ High School, Unit-6 Boys’ High School, Unit-8 Boys’ High School, Unit-8 Girls’ High School, Unit-6 Girls’ High School, DAV Public School, Pokhariput and Sivananda Centenary Boys’ High School, Khandagiri participated in the programme.

Inaugurating the programme, Dr Chakradhar Panda, secretary, IRCS, Odisha State Branch, spoke about the objective of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

JRC volunteers, counsellors, and IRCS staff members also took out a rally from Red Cross Bhawan to Unit-4 Daily Market and raised slogans urging people to keep their surroundings clean.

The volunteers later cleaned the Unit-4 Mangala Basti. They also cleaned the premises of Red Cross Bhawan.

IRCS under secretary Apramita Mishra, honorary joint secretary Govinda Chandra Mahunta and Youth Red Cross Officer Dr Debudatta Satpathy coordinated the rally and cleaning programme while Nihar Ranjan Mishra assisted in the campaign.
