Sixty servitors from the famous Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha have been sent on a learning trip to major shrines in India.
The sixty sevayats left Puri on Wednesday for a learning trip to major Hindu temples in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The Anubhav Yatra, which started yesterday is an exposure trip for the priests to important shrines across the country to study various issues regarding ettiquetes, security arrangements, visitors facilities and management of other temples.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is keen on getting a feedback from the 60 servitors, especially about cleanliness and facilities for devotees.
Notably, the temple administration had started this project Yatra in 2006 but it was stalled since 2008.
