Police today arrested two bookies from Lanjipalli Chandan Nagar area under B N Pur police limits in Odisha’s Silk City-Berhampur for running a cricket betting racket.
The two bookies were arrested by the police during a raid on a house in the locality while a betting session on IPL was in progress, police sources said.
Police have seized Rs 11, 18,080 in cash, 10 mobile phones and a laptop from them during the raid, the sources added.
The arrested are Khirod Kumar Gouda and Ambika Prasad Padhi of Bidyutpur Colony and Nilachal Nagar locality of the city respectively.
Sources said both have admitted to the crime of betting and have revealed that 15 more were involved in the illegal business.
