The fifth edition of International Surfing Festival today kicked off to a colourful start at Ramachandi river mouth on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive today.


According to Rangers Adventures Foundation and Surfing Yoga, the organisers of the event, the programme will witness participation of 100 surfers including 30 from several foreign countries.

Besides, as many as 250 participants from 15 countries are also participating in the three-day-long programme across several other categories.

Among other attractions, stand up pedal competition, Asian Surfing Championship, kite surfing, sea surfing, parasailing, surfing yoga, surfing art, surfing music and surfing film will be showcased at the event.

The festival intends to showcase to a worldwide audience its massive potential for board sport activities such as surfing, kite- surfing, stand up paddling (SUP) and long boarding (skate), the organisers added.
