In a major breakthrough, police today nabbed a 10-member inter-state dacoit gang in Odisha’s Malkangiri district and seized stolen items worth Rs 30-35 lakh from their possession.
Briefing newsmen here, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said the seized items include one LCD TV set, seven bikes, nine truck batteries, over 100 grams of gold ornaments, 10 computers, a laptop and a country-made revolver.
“The gang was active for more than a year in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh while over 17 cases are pending against them in several police stations in these states,” Mohapatra said, adding that the interrogation of the arrested dacoits is underway.
