‘iClik Kiosk’ for complaint redressal soon

The Odisha government has come up with an innovative idea to register grievances of the vulnerable sections of the society by rolling out ‘iCIik Kiosks’ very soon.
The government is all set to demonstrate the functioning of “iCIik Kiosk”, an innovative system to register grievances of vulnerable sections of the society, at Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) on December 16, which will be attended by chief secretary JK Mohapatra.
The Kiosk is similar to an ATM with touch screen interface, GPRS connectivity, an inbuilt camera, microphone, scanner, a printer and a two hour UPS back up where a complaint can be filed in three modes. The modes available are online filing or voice recording or by document scanning, said an official of the IT department.
Once a complaint is registered, it is transferred to a central server from where it is automatically routed to the concerned police Station for further action.
The official informed that the ‘iCIik Kiosk’ is expected to improve the transparency of the grievance redressal process. The government has decided to install the second Kiosk at Ramadevi Women’s college where women can register their grievances.
