Bhubaneswar, Oct 27:
The Railways have decided to cancel the 7th phase of Science Express Exhibition scheduled at Koraput from October 28 to 31 on account of the severe damage to railway infrastructure in Visakhapatnam and southern Odisha under Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) by Cyclone Hudhud, an ECoR release said today.
The Science Express – Biodiversity Special (SEBS), an innovative mobile exhibition mounted on a specially designed 16 coach AC train, is a unique collaborative initiative of the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).
The exhibition aims to create widespread awareness on the unique biodiversity of India— Climate Change, Water, Energy Conservation— and related issues among various sections of the society, especially students.
The exhibition also showcases the legacy of the Science Express, the popular VASCSC (Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre, Ahmedabad)’s Joy of Science hands-on lab and a teachers’ training facility.
