The Cyclonic Storm ‘HUDHUD’ over south Chhattisgarh and the adjoining southwest Odisha moved northwestwards and weakened into Deep Depression, the local Met Centre said today.
It lay centered at 5.30 am this morning over south Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood, about 90 km northwest of Jagdalpur and 190 km south of Raipur. It would move north-northwestwards, weaken into a depression during next six hours and into a well marked low pressure area during subsequent six hours, the Met bulletin informed.
However, the bulletin said, under its influence, rainfall would occur at many places over Odisha and heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in interior districts of Odisha during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
Gusty surface wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph from the southeast direction would prevail along and off the Odisha Coast and the sea condition would be very rough to high along and off the coast, the bulletin noted while warning fishermen not to venture into the sea.
