Efforts are on to make available applicants with duplicate certificates of High School Certificate (HSC) examinations at Jan Seva Kendras in the state, informed Minister of School & Mass Education Debi Prasad Mishra, participating at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha here today.
The Minister promised BSE authorities that the state government will provide all necessary assistance for digitization of records of the Board.
“Prior to making available certificates at the Jana Seva Kendra we need to go for digitization of records. Only then can applicants get their duplicate certificates within two hours of applying for it which now takes at least a month. We are first trying to start with delivery of certificates,” Mishra said.
It has been decided to digitize records of the BSE in two phases for the purpose. While in the first phase records beginning from the year 2000 to 2015 will be digitized, in the second phase records starting from 1955 to 1999 will be digitized. It has been targeted to complete first phase digitization by the end of 2016.
“We have received grants at the right time from the state government. As you know it will take about one month for the tender process. After the firm for undertaking the job is selected we will take some time on how to go for it. I feel we will be able to complete first phase of digitization by the end of 2016,” said Dakshya Prasad Nanda, president BSE.
Among others who attended the diamond jubilee function of the BSE were secretary School & Mass Education Ranjana Chopra and UNICEF Odisha branch education expert Lalita Patnaik
