The Odisha Assembly Wednesday passed the Registration (Odisha Amendment) Bill.
Under the provisions of the Bill, new rules will be applicable for registration of five categories (kissams) of land.
Henceforth Patta will be a mandatory requirement during sale of land. The approval of all parties concerned, including contending parties will also be needed to formalise the transfer of land.
The amendments proposed in the Bill is to ensure greater transparency in sale and purchase of land and to prevent fraud, the Revenue minister Surya Narayan Patro said.
