Chinese President Xi Jinping Thursday said that he was looking forward to take India, China “strategic relationship” forward.
Xi said that China and India are the world’s two largest developing countries and have emerging markets.
He said that he hopes to talk to the Indian leadership to take this “strategic relationship” forward.
Xi Jinping stressed on friendship between India and China.
He spoke of mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries and hoped to achieve a lot during his first visit to India.
The visiting Chinese president who was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the goal is also to “deepen our cooperation”.
He said that we admire each others civilisation.
Xi is on a three-day visit to India.
The Chinese president arrived in Ahmedabad Wednesday and then flew down to the national capital the same night. He will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House during the day.
He flies out Friday.
