Home is where Art is – IPCA

For the artists of Odisha, a New Year gift has arrived in the form of Ila Panda Center of Art (IPCA) whose logo and web site was unveiled recently at a hotel in Bhubaneswar. Dignitaries, artists and eminent guests graced this occasion and it was a gala celebration for a noble cause. This CSR initiative by Utkal Manufacturing and Services Limited( UMSL), aims at giving a platform for the creative people and is a much needed friend in need.

Late Ila Panda was the quintessential artist, from Shantiniketan, a former parliamentarian, philanthropist, industrialist, an art lover  educated in the Royal college of Art, London. She was the crusader and the founder member in the executive board of Odisha Lalit Kala Academy. The website of IPCA would be showcasing the collection of paintings by different artists both contemporary and traditional with the thrust on Odia artworks. On the pipelines are art camps, travelling exhibition and online art galleries.

Illustrious dignitaries like Rajya Sabha member Ranjib Biswal , noted artist Dinanath Pathy  , lauded the initiatives taken by  UMSL  for making this creative platform available  for the blooming and budding artists . Managing Director, UMSL, Paramita Mahapatra shared that 40 years back, the Odisha Pattachitra was incorporated as a corporate gift and made into calendars. This effort helped in projecting the signature of Odia art internationally.

Executive Chairman, IMFA Group Banshidhar Panda, Lok Sabha member Baijayant Panda, OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda and Nivedita Ganapati graced the occasion.
