Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu visited the District Headquarters Hospital here today and met the victims of the Hirakhand Express which derailed near Kuneru railway station in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
The Union Minister later visited the accident spot which is around 24 km from here.
Prabhu said action will be taken against those whosoever is found responsible for the accident.
“Some passengers have been injured in the accident. The entire Railways administration and the two state governments are engaged in providing medical treatment and relief to the injured. We are investigating the cause of the accident. Whatever be the reason behind the accident will be fully investigated. Stringent action will be taken against whosoever is responsible for it,” said Prabhu.
Prabhu left for New Delhi after visiting the accident site.
